- Caffeine-free — no crash, nothing to cycle off.
- 450 mg TheoLim® — the dose used in both trials.
- 250 mg DNF-10® — yeast peptide, studied for appetite.
- 60 capsules, 30 servings.
MuscleTech Peptide 320 is a caffeine-free, two-ingredient metabolism capsule made by MuscleTech (Iovate Health Sciences) in the United States and supplied in New Zealand by Xplosiv. Each two-capsule serving carries 450 mg of TheoLim® and 250 mg of DNF-10® — both standardised, branded ingredients with published human trials behind them. Sixty capsules, thirty servings, no added caffeine.
You're not weak. You're hungry.
Most burners in this category hand you energy. You don't have an energy problem at 9pm — you have a fridge problem. This one works the other way round: it goes after the hunger signal first, and your resting calorie burn second. Two ingredients, both named on the label, both at an amount you can check against the research yourself.
What it does
Three sentences. That is the whole product.
- It may help turn down the hunger signal your gut sends your brain.
- It may slightly raise the calories you get through sitting still, doing nothing.
- It is built to make a diet easier to hold — so the plan you already have survives the week.
How it works — the 30-second version
The hunger signalYour stomach makes a hormone called ghrelin. It is the thing that walks you to the pantry at 9pm when you are not actually hungry. That is not willpower failing — it is chemistry, and chemistry is something you can work with.
DNF-10® is a peptide made from brewer's yeast. Peptides are short pieces of protein, small enough that your gut reads them as a signal instead of digesting them as food. In clinical research, DNF-10 has been associated with reduced ghrelin and fewer food cravings.
The fuel switchYour fat cells make a hormone called adiponectin. More of it flips a switch called AMPK — your body's decision-maker on fuel. Use it, or store it.
TheoLim® is a patented extract of lime peel and cocoa seed. In a 16-week trial it was associated with increased adiponectin and improved body composition, with the proposed mechanism running through AMPK.
One ingredient for the eating. One for the using. Nothing else in the bottle.
The research
TheoLim® — 450 mg per serving
| 16 weeks · 120 overweight adults · 450 mg daily | TheoLim® | Placebo |
|---|---|---|
| Body weight lost | 4.25 kg | 0.96 kg |
| Body fat lost | 4.28 kg | 0.85 kg |
| Waist circumference | −4.32 cm | −2.10 cm |
Lean muscle was preserved in that trial — the change came from fat.
And it starts doing something the same day you take it. In a separate crossover trial, a single 450 mg dose was associated with resting metabolic rate rising by up to roughly 24% within three hours — about 3.2 times the rise measured on placebo. Blood pressure and heart rate stayed comparable between the groups, which is what you would expect from something not working as a stimulant.
DNF-10® — 250 mg per serving
- 8 weeks, 500 mg a day. Reductions in body weight and fat mass against placebo. Participants also reported fewer food cravings and less desire for sweet food.
- 10 weeks, 1,000 mg a day, 54 adults. 2.60 kg lost against 0.83 kg on placebo, with a CT-confirmed reduction in abdominal fat. Activity levels did not change — the effect came from eating less.
- FDA GRAS status (GRN 1033). A formal safety review, not a marketing badge.
Who paid for them. Every trial above was funded by the company that makes the ingredient in it, with a company scientist among the authors. That is normal for branded ingredients and it is still worth knowing. All of them are peer-reviewed and indexed on PubMed — none is a conference abstract or a supplier white paper.
What this label actually gives you
| Daily amount | What that gives you | Against the published dose |
|---|---|---|
| Two capsules | 450 mg TheoLim® 250 mg DNF-10® | TheoLim exactly as studied. DNF-10 at half |
| Four capsules | 900 mg TheoLim® 500 mg DNF-10® | DNF-10 exactly as studied. TheoLim at double, which nobody has tested |
There is no serving of this bottle that sits exactly on both studied doses at once. We would rather you heard that here.
Two capsules is where the 16-week TheoLim trial sits, and a bottle runs thirty days. Four capsules is where the appetite research sits, and a bottle runs fifteen. Most people running a serious cut take four; most people holding a maintenance phase take two.
Why caffeine-free is the point
Most burners in this category are caffeine in a capsule. That works for some people and quietly rules out everyone else. There is no added caffeine here at all, which means:
- You can train at night. No 2am ceiling-staring.
- You can keep your pre-workout. No caffeine stacking, no doubling up.
- You never cycle off. No tolerance, no washout weeks, no restarting.
- Nothing spikes, so nothing drops. There is no crash on the other side.
- It sits alongside the rest of your stack. Protein, creatine, pre-workout, the lot.
One caveat we would rather you heard here. The cocoa seed extract inside TheoLim carries roughly 2.25 mg of theobromine per serving — a mild relative of caffeine, and around a thirtieth of what is in a cup of cocoa. Nothing on this panel is there to stimulate you, but "no stimulants whatsoever" would not be strictly true, so we won't print it.
How to take it
- Two capsules with a glass of water, fasted, before your first meal. That is the full 450 mg TheoLim dose.
- For the full protocol, take a second two-capsule serving later in the day. That brings DNF-10 to the 500 mg used in the appetite research.
- Do not exceed four capsules in twenty-four hours.
- No loading phase, no washout, no time off. The second serving can go with dinner without touching your sleep.
Is it for you?
Built for
- Anyone who has quit this category because it left them wired, anxious or awake at 2am
- People already taking a pre-workout who don't want more caffeine on top
- Anyone who trains in the evening
- People whose diet doesn't fail at breakfast — it fails at 9pm
- Anyone who wants the dose printed so they can look it up themselves
Not for
- Anyone expecting it to work without the diet and the training doing the heavy lifting
- Anyone wanting something they can feel — there is nothing here to notice
- Anyone under 18, pregnant, or breastfeeding
- Anyone on prescription medication, without asking their doctor first

Other ingredients: rice flour, capsule (hypromellose, calcium carbonate), microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide. The label states the product contains bioengineered food ingredients. The full panel is published as text in the Supplement Facts tab.
Allergens: none printed on the panel. If you have a food allergy, read the label on the pack you receive before use.
Stacks well with
Whey protein. Protein is the most filling macro there is. Pair it with something working on the hunger signal and the two pull in the same direction.
Creatine. Supports training output while you are eating less, which is exactly when output usually drops.
The pre-workout you already use. No caffeine overlap, nothing to rearrange, nothing to cycle around.
FAQ
Will it keep me awake?
No. There is no added caffeine in it at all, so the second serving can go with dinner without costing you sleep. The only stimulant-adjacent compound present is about 2.25 mg of theobromine carried in by the cocoa extract — roughly a thirtieth of a cup of cocoa, and far too little to notice.
Can I take it with my pre-workout, stim burner or creatine?
Yes. There is no caffeine overlap, so nothing needs rearranging and nothing needs cycling off. It sits alongside protein, creatine and a pre-workout without competing with any of them. If you are already taking something else with a metabolism ingredient in it, check that you are not doubling up on the same actives.
Will I feel it kick in?
Not the way a stimulant does, and that is deliberate. This works on hunger signalling rather than adrenaline, so there is no rush and no edge to it. What people tend to report noticing first is not a feeling at all — it is that food has stopped occupying their attention all afternoon.
How long until I see changes?
Appetite changes were reported inside the first few weeks in the research. Body composition results were measured over 8 to 16 weeks depending on the trial, so give it a proper run before you judge it. A four-week trial of this is not a trial of this — the studies behind it ran considerably longer than that.
Is this a peptide like the injectable ones?
No, and the shared word is misleading. "Peptide" just means a short chain of amino acids — a small piece of protein. The peptides here are food-derived, taken orally, and digested like any other protein fragment. They have nothing in common with injectable peptide medicines beyond the name.
Do I still need to diet?
Yes. This is built to make a diet easier to hold, not to stand in for one. The trials behind both ingredients ran in people who were also eating in a deficit, so that is the context the results describe. Taken on top of an unchanged diet, there is no published result that says what happens.
Should I take two capsules or four?
Two puts TheoLim exactly on the 450 mg used in both its trials, with DNF-10 at half its studied amount. Four matches the DNF-10 research and takes TheoLim to double anything tested. Two is the thirty-day bottle and the better-evidenced regimen; four is the full appetite protocol and a fifteen-day bottle.
How good is the research, honestly?
Better than most of this shelf, and not beyond question. The trials are peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed human studies rather than conference abstracts or supplier white papers. All of them were funded by the company selling the ingredient, with a company scientist among the authors. They ran in overweight adults, so that is who the results describe.
