Nine essential aminos and real electrolytes in one scoop. Athletech EAA delivers a 7,324mg amino blend per serve - all 9 EAAs (7,124mg) led by 2,500mg leucine - plus sodium, potassium and magnesium. 30 serves, three flavours, blended in Auckland.
A complete essential-amino-acid recovery and hydration powder. Athletech Essential Amino Acids is an EAA drink powder blended and packed in Auckland, New Zealand, from local and imported ingredients. Each 10g scoop delivers a 7,324mg amino acid blend — all nine essential amino acids (7,124mg), led by 2,500mg of leucine, plus 200mg of L-arginine — together with the three electrolytes you lose in sweat: sodium, potassium and magnesium. 30 serves per tub, in three flavours: Pineapple, Strawberry and Lemon Lime.
Nine essential aminos and real electrolytes in one scoop
All nine amino acids the body can't make on its own, plus the salts you sweat out — in a light, instant-mixing drink. Every dose printed on the label, no proprietary blend.
One scoop, not two tubs
A BCAA gives you three building blocks; an electrolyte drink gives back some salts. Run both and you are buying two tubs and stacking two scoops. Athletech puts all nine essential amino acids and three electrolytes in a single 10g scoop — the recovery aminos and the hydration salts in one drink.
- All 9 essential aminos (7,124mg) + arginine
- Sodium, potassium & magnesium
- Every dose printed, no proprietary blend
- Only 3 of the 9 essential aminos
- No added magnesium
- Doesn't replace electrolytes lost in sweat
- No amino acids
- Hydration salts only
- Nothing for muscle recovery
Aminos for recovery, salts for hydration
Essential amino acids are the raw material for muscle protein. The nine EAAs are the ones your body cannot make, so they have to come from food or a supplement. Leucine is the amino acid most studied as a trigger for muscle protein synthesis, which is why it leads the blend at 2,500mg per serve — alongside the full set of EAAs that muscle protein is actually built from [1].
Three electrolytes for training in the heat. Each serve carries 200mg sodium, 100mg potassium and 56mg magnesium — three of the main minerals lost in sweat. At 56mg, magnesium provides 17.5% of the daily reference intake: magnesium contributes to normal muscle function and to a normal energy-yielding metabolism [2].
How to read this: EAAs work alongside resistance training and enough total daily protein — they are a convenient source of the amino acids muscle is built from, not a replacement for real food or training. Sodium and potassium are listed as amounts only.

Questions, answered
What's the difference between EAAs and BCAAs?
BCAAs are three amino acids (leucine, isoleucine, valine); EAAs are all nine your body can't make. Athletech gives you the full nine — 7,124mg of EAAs per serve, which includes the 5,000mg of BCAAs — so you get the complete set of essential aminos muscle protein is built from, not just three of them.
How much leucine and BCAA is in one scoop?
2,500mg of L-leucine per 10g serve, inside 5,000mg of total BCAAs at a 2:1:1 ratio (2,500mg leucine, 1,250mg isoleucine, 1,250mg valine). Leucine is the amino acid most studied as a trigger for muscle protein synthesis, which is why it leads the blend. Every amount is printed on the label.
Does it contain gluten or any allergens?
Yes — it contains gluten from barley grass powder, so it is not suitable for people with coeliac disease or gluten intolerance. The full ingredient list is on this page and on the tub. If you have allergies or intolerances, read the label carefully before use and check with your healthcare professional if unsure.
When and how should I take it?
Mix one 10g scoop into 250–300ml of water and have it once a day, during or after training. With under 1g of carbs and 144kJ per serve it is an easy drink to keep going through a session, and several of the aminos are instantised so it mixes clean.
What does the magnesium do?
Each serve provides 56mg of magnesium — 17.5% of the daily reference intake. At that level, magnesium contributes to normal muscle function and to a normal energy-yielding metabolism. The serve also includes 200mg of sodium from New Zealand sea salt and 100mg of potassium, the other electrolytes lost in sweat.
What flavours are there, and what's in the gift?
Three flavours — Pineapple, Strawberry and Lemon Lime — lightly sweetened with sucralose and coloured with safflower, no synthetic dyes. While the current promotion runs, every order also includes a free Swoleys gift, added at checkout; see the cart for the gift that applies today.
How do shipping and returns work?
Standard Xplosiv terms apply. See the shipping and returns links in the site footer for current rates, delivery timeframes and conditions, including free shipping on qualifying NZ orders. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact Xplosiv support and the team will arrange a replacement or refund.
