What you actually get
- Five electrolyte minerals in every serve — potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium and chloride, with each milligram figure printed in full rather than hidden inside a blend.
- Nothing to mix and nothing to wash — two gummies out of a resealable pack, so there is no shaker, no bottle and no powder to measure.
- 45 serves in a pack — 90 gummies at two per serve, which is about six weeks at one serve a day.
- 20 kcal a serve — 84 kJ, alongside 4 g of sugar per serve, both listed in the table below and on the pack.
Every number, straight off the pack
A serve is two gummies. The label's stated range is two to four gummies a day, so both columns are shown.

| Energy | 20 kcal | 40 kcal |
| Energy (kJ) | 84 kJ | 167 kJ |
| Total carbohydrate | 5 g | 10 g |
| Sugars | 4 g | 8 g |

The kJ figures are the pack's kcal values converted at 4.184 kJ per kcal. The full panel, including the per-100 g column, sits in the Supplement Facts tab on this page.
What we don't claim
These are minerals in a lolly, not a sports drink. New Zealand only lets a product make a nutrition or health claim about a mineral when a serve carries a meaningful share of the daily reference intake — the usual threshold is 10%. LyteBites does not reach that for any of its five minerals. Calcium comes closest at 34 mg per serve, where roughly 80 mg would be needed [1].
So we make no mineral claims here. We do not say LyteBites improves hydration, replaces an electrolyte drink or a sports drink, or does anything for cramp, endurance, performance or recovery.
What it is: a lemon-flavoured gummy with five added electrolyte minerals and 4 g of sugar per serve. If the numbers matter to you, they are all in the table above — that is the honest version, and it is why this page reads differently from most gummy pages.
Ingredients and allergens
Check the pack before use. The full ingredient list and allergen statement are printed on the physical pack. If you have a food allergy, or you need to know whether the gummy base is gelatine or pectin, read the label on the pack before eating these.
Two gummies, whenever suits
- One serve is two gummies. Every figure in the table above is based on that.
- The label's range is two to four gummies a day. Four doubles everything — 40 kcal, 8 g sugar, 98 mg potassium.
- Reseal the pack after opening and store it somewhere cool and dry.
Who it suits
Built for

- Travel, tramping, work sites and gym bags — anywhere a shaker is a nuisance
- Anyone who likes a lemon gummy and would rather it carried minerals than not
Not for
- Anyone under 18 years of age
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- Anyone cutting sugar — this is 4 g a serve, 8 g at four gummies
- Anyone after a full-strength electrolyte replacement drink — the amounts here are small

If you like the gummy format
Same format, different job. People who buy LyteBites tend to already be avoiding powders. The Swoleys Creatine Monohydrate Gummy Bears run the same chewable idea with 5 g of creatine monohydrate per serve, which is the dose the research on creatine actually uses [2] — and the 12-serve bag is the gift currently included with this pack.
Questions people ask
How many gummies are in a pack, and what counts as a serve?
90 gummies, 45 serves. A serve is two gummies, so a pack of Swoleys LyteBites Lemon Surge holds 45 of them. At one serve a day that is about six weeks. The label's stated range is two to four gummies daily, so a pack lasts between three and six weeks depending on how you use it.
How much sugar is in Swoleys LyteBites?
4 g of sugar per serve. Each two-gummy serve has 4 g of sugar, all of it added sugar, and 5 g of total carbohydrate for 20 kcal (84 kJ). If you take four gummies that becomes 8 g of sugar and 40 kcal. These are confectionery-style gummies, so the sugar is doing the flavour and texture work.
Can LyteBites replace an electrolyte drink?
No, and we would rather say so plainly. A two-gummy serve carries 49 mg potassium, 34 mg calcium, 10 mg sodium, 6 mg magnesium and 2 mg chloride. Those are small amounts next to a typical electrolyte drink mix. Think of LyteBites as a convenient gummy that happens to contain electrolyte minerals, rather than a replacement for one.
Why doesn't this page make hydration or muscle claims?
Because the amounts do not support them. In New Zealand a mineral generally needs to be present at around 10% of its daily reference intake per serve before a product can carry a nutrition or health claim about it [1]. None of the five minerals in LyteBites reaches that level, so we just list what is in the pack.
What electrolytes are in LyteBites, and how much of each?
Per two-gummy serve: potassium 49 mg, calcium 34 mg, sodium 10 mg, magnesium 6 mg and chloride 2 mg. Double all of those at the four-gummy end of the label's range. The complete Supplement Facts panel, including the per-100 g column, is in the Supplement Facts tab on this page.
Who should not take these?
The pack says LyteBites is not recommended for anyone under 18 years of age, or for pregnant or breastfeeding women, and should be kept out of reach of children. Anyone managing their sugar intake should also note the 4 g of added sugar per two-gummy serve. If you are unsure, talk to your healthcare professional.
